STABLECOIN YIELDS

Stablecoin yields, compared across DeFi

Find the best stablecoin yield for the risk you’re willing to take, not just the biggest number. web3juice lines up USDC, USDT, DAI and other dollar stablecoin pools from across DeFi, shows what is actually paying each APY, and tells you when your rate moves.

No wallet needed to browse. Research only: web3juice never holds your funds or places trades.

Everything you need to compare stablecoin rates

Stablecoins in one click

Switch on the Stablecoins filter for single-stablecoin pools, or Stablecoin pairs for pools made only of stablecoins. Then narrow by chain, protocol, APY and TVL.

See what pays the APY

Base APY (interest and trading fees) sits apart from reward APY (incentive tokens) wherever the data feed reports both, next to each pool’s 30-day median and range.

Know when your rate moves

Record the pools you’re in and get an alert in the app, by email or on Discord when the APY crosses the level you set.

Where stablecoin yield comes from

A stablecoin doesn’t earn anything by sitting in your wallet. The yield is someone paying to use your dollars, and in DeFi that money comes from one of four places:

  • Lending interest. Borrowers pay interest to borrow USDC, USDT or DAI on lending markets. The rate rises and falls with demand to borrow.
  • Trading fees. Pools that swap one stablecoin for another earn a cut of every trade. Busy pools pay more; quiet ones pay less.
  • Incentive rewards. Many pools add the protocol’s own token on top. That part of the APY moves with the token’s price and ends when the programme ends.
  • Strategy vaults. Vaults automate lending or liquidity strategies and compound the returns, taking a fee for doing it.

That’s why two pools quoting the same APY can be very different deals. Wherever the data feed reports both parts, web3juice splits each APY into base and reward, so you can see how much of a headline rate would remain if the rewards stopped.

How to compare stablecoin yields, step by step

  1. Start with what you hold. A USDC lending market and a USDC/USDT liquidity pool carry different risks. Use Stablecoins for single-stablecoin pools and Stablecoin pairs for pools made only of stablecoins.
  2. Split base from rewards. A pool paying 4% in interest is not the same deal as one paying 1% interest plus 9% in a token that could halve next week.
  3. Check the 30-day median, not just today. Small pools swing a lot. If today’s APY is far above its 30-day median, find out why before you move money.
  4. Look at the pool’s size. TVL is the money already in the pool. Small pools can show huge APYs that shrink as soon as new deposits arrive, and they can be harder to exit in size.
  5. Compare like with like. Line up to four pools side by side, with their yield, exposure and evidence in one view. Comparing needs a free account.
  6. Confirm at the source. Open the pool’s own site from web3juice and check the pool, chain and terms before you deposit anything.

Why the highest stablecoin yield is rarely the best one

Sort any stablecoin list by APY and the top rows are usually small, new or reward-heavy pools. That doesn’t make them scams, but it usually means at least one of these is true:

  • Most of the APY is paid in a reward token whose price can fall.
  • The pool is small, so the rate will drop as more deposits arrive.
  • The rate spiked recently, and the 30-day median tells a calmer story.
  • The stablecoin or protocol is newer, with less history behind it.

web3juice puts the APY split, TVL, 30-day median and range side by side, and shows which checks are still missing for each pool, so a strong rate is easier to tell apart from a fragile one.

Is stablecoin yield safe?

No yield is risk-free, and stablecoin yield is not a bank account: there is no deposit insurance. The main risks are:

  • Smart contract risk. A bug or exploit in the protocol can lose deposits.
  • Depeg risk. A stablecoin can trade below $1, sometimes for a long time.
  • Liquidity risk. You may not be able to withdraw everything at once, especially from small pools or busy lending markets.
  • Reward risk. Incentive tokens can lose value quickly, taking the headline APY with them.
  • Platform risk. Some pools rely on bridges, custodians or assets held off-chain.

Large, long-running pools paid mostly in base interest tend to be steadier, but steadier is not the same as safe. Only deposit what you can afford to lose, and treat every APY as a quote that can change, not a promise. Want to follow more than stablecoins? See the DeFi yield tracker.

Stablecoin yield FAQ

What is a good stablecoin yield?

There isn’t a fixed number. Stablecoin rates move with demand to borrow dollars on-chain and with interest rates in the wider market. A practical test is to compare a pool with the 30-day median of large, established stablecoin pools: a rate far above that is being paid for a reason, usually rewards, a small pool or extra risk.

Why do stablecoin APYs change so often?

Lending rates follow borrowing demand, which can shift within hours. Trading-fee yields follow volume, and reward APYs follow the reward token’s price and the size of the pool. That is why web3juice shows the 30-day median and range next to today’s rate.

What is the difference between APY and APR?

APR is a simple yearly rate. APY includes compounding, so it is higher than the APR for the same pool whenever returns are reinvested. web3juice shows the APY its data feeds report; when you visit a protocol’s own site, check whether it quotes APY or APR before comparing.

Can I lose money on stablecoin yield?

Yes. A smart contract exploit, a stablecoin losing its peg, a falling reward token or a withdrawal queue can all cost you part or all of a deposit. Stablecoin yield is not covered by deposit insurance.

Does web3juice hold or move my stablecoins?

No. web3juice is a research and monitoring tool. It never holds deposits, asks for your keys or places trades. If you decide to deposit, you do it on the pool’s own site.

Is web3juice free?

Browsing, filtering and exporting pools needs no account. A free account adds watchlists, saved searches, side-by-side comparison and APY alerts in the app, by email or on Discord.
