Stablecoin yield report: October 2026
What DeFi actually paid to hold dollar stablecoins, measured across every recognised stablecoin pool with at least $1M deposited. All figures come from one snapshot of the web3juice catalogue, retrieved on 13 October 2026.
Seven findings
- The typical large stablecoin pool paid 4.32%. Weighted by the money in each pool, the average was 4.27%, across 25 chains, 83 protocols and about $14.6B of deposits.
- High rates were rare. 289 of the 339 pools (85%) paid under 8%, and 5 (1.5%) paid 20% or more.
- Lending a single stablecoin paid more than pairing two. Single-asset pools had a median of 4.72%, stablecoin-to-stablecoin pairs 2.32%.
- USDC dominated and paid best among the big coins: 152 single-asset USDC pools with a median of 5.58%, against 36 USDT pools at 3.58%.
- Smaller pools paid a little more. Pools of $1M to $10M had a median of 4.45%; pools over $100M, 3.95%.
- Rewards were common but rarely the whole story. Of the 136 pools whose data splits base and reward APY, 87 (64%) paid some rewards and 46 (34%) got more than half their APY from them.
- Yield-bearing stablecoins often show 0% where they are used as collateral: 9 of 16 sUSDe pools of $1M or more reported a 0% APY, because sUSDe’s own yield builds up in its price rather than being paid by the pool.
How stablecoin APYs were spread

| Under 3% | 93 | 27.4% |
| 3% to 5% | 109 | 32.2% |
| 5% to 8% | 87 | 25.7% |
| 8% to 12% | 29 | 8.6% |
| 12% to 20% | 16 | 4.7% |
| 20% or more | 5 | 1.5% |

Yields by stablecoin
Single-asset pools only, so each row is one coin on its own: lending markets, savings vaults and staking pools.
| Coin | Pools ($1M+) | Median APY | Middle half | Deposits | Chains |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| USDC | 152 | 5.58% | 4.04% to 7.81% | $5.6B | 21 |
| USDT | 36 | 3.58% | 3.15% to 5.69% | $2.2B | 10 |
| crvUSD | 28 | 4.76% | 3.54% to 5.48% | $179M | 1 |
| USDe | 12 | 0.65% | 0.00% to 4.75% | $2.0B | 7 |
| PYUSD | 10 | 3.84% | 3.35% to 6.26% | $461M | 2 |
| USDS | 9 | 3.80% | 3.55% to 4.14% | $1.8B | 4 |
| USDG | 9 | 4.95% | 3.80% to 5.25% | $590M | 4 |
| DAI | 5 | 2.88% | 2.85% to 3.38% | $103M | 3 |
| RLUSD | 3 | 1.92% | 0.98% to 3.41% | $100M | 1 |

Yields by chain
| Chain | Pools ($1M+) | Median APY | Deposits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereum | 171 | 4.40% | $9.7B |
| Solana | 42 | 4.57% | $1.3B |
| Base | 23 | 4.87% | $568M |
| BSC | 15 | 3.47% | $257M |
| Arbitrum | 14 | 3.15% | $477M |
| OP Mainnet | 13 | 4.15% | $26M |
| Monad | 12 | 6.24% | $254M |
| Avalanche | 8 | 4.99% | $292M |
Ethereum held 171 of the 339 pools and most of the money. Newer chains often paid more, partly through incentives to attract deposits, so check what pays the rate before chasing it.
Yields by pool size
| Pool size (TVL) | Pools | Median APY |
|---|---|---|
| $1M to $10M | 223 | 4.45% |
| $10M to $100M | 88 | 3.79% |
| Over $100M | 28 | 3.95% |
Big pools are not automatically safe, and small ones are not automatically risky, but small pools’ rates move more as deposits come and go. See yield-bearing stablecoins for why some of the largest pools report almost nothing.
How we measured it
- Data. One snapshot of the web3juice catalogue: 16,974 pools across 103 chains, collected from public DeFi data feeds and retrieved at 03:15 UTC on 13 October 2026.
- Which pools. Active pools whose every asset carries one of 19 recognised stablecoin labels, retrieved within the hour, with at least $1M of total value locked: 339 pools.
- APY. The annual yield each feed reported at that moment, including reward tokens where reported. It is not a forecast or a realised return.
- Statistics. Medians and percentiles of pool APYs; the weighted average weights each pool by its TVL. Reward shares count only pools whose data reports base and reward APY separately (136 pools).
- Limits. A single moment, not a trend. Stablecoin labels are not a check of token contracts or pegs. Wrapped tokens such as sUSDS are outside the stablecoin filter and appear only in the finding about them.

Stablecoin yield report FAQ
What is the average stablecoin yield right now?
On 13 October 2026, the median APY across 339 stablecoin pools holding at least $1M was 4.32%, and the deposit-weighted average was 4.27%. Rates change daily; the stablecoin explorer shows today’s figures.
Why do some stablecoin pools show a 0% APY?
Most are pools that hold a yield-bearing stablecoin such as sUSDe or sUSDS as collateral. The token earns by rising in value against the dollar, so the pool itself has little or nothing to pay out, and its reported APY is near zero even though holders still earn the token’s own yield.
Where does this data come from?
From the web3juice catalogue of 16,974 DeFi pools, collected from public DeFi data feeds and retrieved at 03:15 UTC on 13 October 2026. Only aggregates are published here; individual pools are in the explorer.
